Matthew J. Kazansky
I have been a practicing attorney for over 11 years and am a partner of Nangia & Kazansky, LLP. I have appeared in America's Premier Lawyers and am a member of the Brooklyn Bar Association and the Assigned Counsel Screening Committee for Kings County. My primary areas of focus are in Matrimonial and Family Law but I also handle various other matters including debt collection, civil litigation, and contracts.
I began my legal career as an attorney for the Administration for Children's Services and in 2001 founded Nangia & Kazansky, LLP with Ash K. Nangia. When we formed our firm we had one idea in mind, to provide the highest level of legal services to the community with a personal touch.
In the 11 years I have been an attorney, I have represented children, mothers, fathers, and grandparents in a variety of matters ranging from divorce, child custody/visitation to child support, domestic violence, paternity and family offenses. I have represented individuals and businesses in civil litigation, contract matters, and debt collection. I have litigated complex matters from their inception to conclusion securing favorable outcomes for my clients. I treat each case as it is my only case and pride myself on always being prepared and effectively arguing my client's position.
While I am an experienced litigator, I believe it is important to avoid litigation when necessary. In many cases, my strong negotiation skills have resulted in settlements that benefit my clients and avoid the costs associated with lengthy contested matters.
I believe that there is more to being a good attorney than being an effective litigator. I believe strongly that a client should be involved in the process and I insure that my clients are informed and understand every aspect of their matter. My role as your attorney is to counsel and guide you through a difficult process with support, expertise, and respect that lets you rest easy at night knowing that you are in good hands.
